Through research, the Center will be an unbiased source of information for informing public policy and decision makers. 

Cutting Edge Research

The Center will be a source of new research in public horticulture. The Center will focus its student and faculty research programs on issues important to public garden professionals, including:

  • Plant science and ecology
  • Sustainability and conservation
  • Leadership and management
  • Education and interpretation
  • Social science and environmental psychology
  • Visitor studies
  • Benchmarking

Research Library

The Center will store and distribute existing research from UD and allied institutions. Currently our library includes:

Theses from The Longwood Graduate Program

Nearly 150 graduate theses have been created since its inception in 1967. 

Free electronic access to theses is available through UD’s DSpace.

Longwood Graduate Program Research Presentations

The Presentations are a forum for the graduating students to present their diverse research to professionals.
